How to Make Freddy Kreuger's Glove out of Paper

Freddy Krueger, the dreamland villain from the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, is still used as a Halloween costume over twenty years after the release of the first movie. Freddy Krueger's gloves, complete with claws on the end, inspired fear in those who watched the movies. You can make your own claws out of paper easily, and while they won't inspire fear with the noise of the claws clicking together or the sound of the claws being dragged along a metal object, they will remind those who have seen the movies of the gloves worn by the dreamland monster.

Instructions

  1. Making the Glove

    • 1

Measure the hand from the wrist to the knuckles and from the side of the hand to the thumb knuckle. Measure the fingers from the base to the second joint on each finger.

    • 2

Measure out four spikes for claws on the grey paper. The claws should each measure 4 inches long and half an inch wide. The tops should curve to a point. Cut out the pieces.

    • 3

Draw out your pieces based on the measurements above. Add a quarter of an inch to all measurements to ensure a proper fit. You will need two pieces for the hand and two pieces for each finger and the thumb. This will give you the pieces needed to make one glove.

    • 4

Tape the pieces together on the back side of the paper so that the tape does not show when wearing. Tape the sides of the hand together, leaving an opening on one side for the thumb. Tape the fingers closed along the side of the finger, leaving the top and bottom open. Tape the fingers to the hand.

    • 5

Cut a slit in each finger tip on the top side of the hand approximately half an inch deep for the claws.

    • 6

Glue the claws onto the fingers. Put a drop of glue on each claw and slide into the slit on the finger. Let dry completely.

Tips & Warnings

  • Put the glove on carefully so that the paper does not rip.
