How to Make Duct Tape Pant Legs
Duct tape provides a strong material for creating clothing and crafts, and performing simple repairs. For this reason, one well-known duct tape manufacturer even holds contests for scholarships to students who make prom attire entirely from duct tape. You can make an especially interesting pair of pants with duct tape legs for a costume party or duct tape festival, or simply to express your own quirky creativity.
Instructions

1
Cut a strip of duct tape the length depicted on your pant pattern. Lay this strip sticky side up on a clean, flat surface.
-
2
Cut another strip of duct tape, the same length as the first. Lay this strip, sticky side down, over the first strip to cover the entire length, but only 2/3 of the width. This should leave a sticky strip along the entire length of the strip on each side.
-
-
3
Fold the sticky strip, that faces upward, over and press it down onto the strip you layered over it.
-
4
Flip the strip over to expose the other sticky side. Cut another strip of duct tape, the same length, and press its sticky side down to overlap the sticky part of the strip that is already in place.
-
5
Flip the strip over again to expose the sticky side. Cut a new strip and overlap the sticky portion of the strip that is already in place. Continue doing this until your duct tape "fabric" is as wide as your pant pattern dictates.
-
6
Fold over the final section of the exposed sticky side and press it down, the same way you did with your first strip of tape. This is your fabric for your pant legs.
-
7
Cut pieces of the duct tape fabric to follow your pant pattern.
-
8
Piece the cut-out pieces of duct tape together according to the pattern and smooth pieces of duct tape over both sides of each seam, instead of sewing them together, like you would with cloth or denim fabric.
