How to Identify Metal Markers

Metal markers are a special type of craft or art marker that has the distinctive feature of a metal ball for the tip of the marker. Metal markers come in a variety of hues and often produce a permanent, paint-like ink. Metal markers are used to write on challenging surfaces such as wood, glass, and metal. Learn to identify a metal marker by taking note of its distinctive features.

Instructions

1. Open the cap of your marker and look for the metal ball tip. Many metal markers have a shiny steel ball for the marker tip.

2. Inspect the body of the marker. Many metal markers are housed in an aluminum tube casing.

3. Learn to recognize bottle metal markers. They look a little different than traditional metal markers. Instead of the aluminum casing, metal bottle markers have a plastic bottle base. However, if you take off the cap of the marker, you will see the traditional metal ball tip.
