How to Block Websites With a D-Link DIR-655
If your computer is a public computer or is used by your children and other family members, you may wish to prevent them from gaining access to certain websites. The D-Link DIR-655 router has a feature that allows you to block a certain website, so that the user will be unable to access any page on the blocked site. This block will apply to any Internet browser you try on a computer connected to the network.

Click on the "Start" button and select "All Programs." Click on your Internet browser icon to open it up.

Click on the address bar at the top of the window and type in "192.168.0.1" and then pres "Enter" on your keyboard.

Type in "admin" as your username when prompted if you have not previously changed the access to the router. Leave the password option blank if the username is admin. If you have previously changed it, enter the password you set it to.

Select the "Advanced" tab and then choose "Website Filter." Choose "Deny Computers Access to Only These Sites" from the drop-down menu.

Enter the Web address of each site you would like to block in the "Website URL-Domain" box. Click on the "Save Settings" button to confirm the changes.
