How to Set an Avatar on YouTube

Although many people do nothing more than watch videos on YouTube, the website also has a community aspect that some users participate in and find enjoyable. YouTube allows you to list people as your friends; you can also comment on your favorite videos. Your YouTube profile displays an image called your "avatar." In addition to appearing on your profile, your avatar is displayed next to every comment that you leave. You can change your YouTube avatar by uploading a new image to the website.
