How Do I Play a Movie Made in Windows Movie Maker Through Windows Live Movie Maker?

Windows Live Movie Maker is a video-editing program available on Windows 7. The previous version, called Windows Movie Maker, was available on Windows ME through Vista operating systems. Movie Maker provides you with the tools to create polished movies using video clips and photos. If you have previously created movies using Windows Movie Maker and saved the file on your computer, you can play the video in its entirety even if you have upgraded to Windows Live Movie Maker.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" icon on your desktop. Click "All Programs," and then double-click "Windows Live Movie Maker" to launch the program.

2. Click the link "Add Videos and Photos" from the main menu and wait for the Browse menu to populate on the screen.

3. Select the Movie Maker video file that you want to play from the File menu. Click "Open."

4. Wait for Windows Live Movie Maker to launch the video. Click "Play" to play the movie.

Tips & Warnings

• The unfinished movie files used to create a movie in Windows Movie Maker will not play in Windows Live Movie Maker; you need to finish the movie first and export it in MPEG or WMV format. Then, you can import the video and play it in Windows Live Movie Maker.
