How to Recover Lost Firefox Tabs

The Firefox browser allows you to have multiple windows and tabs open simultaneously. If your work requires that you toggle back and forth among several different websites, keep these open on different tabs to save time. Your tabs are displayed at the top of the browser, underneath the toolbar. If you have accidentally closed your tabs or your computer crashed, you can employ three methods to retrieve your lost tabs.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your Firefox browser. Press the "Ctrl" key. Hold it down while you press "Shift" and then "T." This shortcut brings back the Firefox tab you last closed.

    • 2

Click on "History" on the Firefox toolbar if you wish to recover a different tab than the last one you closed. Highlight "Recently Closed Tabs," and then select the tab you wish to reopen.

    • 3

Click on "History" and then "Show All History" on the Firefox toolbar if you wish to open a tab that does not appear on "Recently Closed Tabs." This window displays your browsing history. Click on "Yesterday" if you closed the tab yesterday, or click on "Last 7 Days" to show your tabs for the past week. You may also choose a tab from the past several months.

Tips & Warnings

  • To open a link in a new tab, right-click the link and click on "Open Link in New Tab."
