How to Repair an AC3 File
AC3 is the audio format that is used by iTunes from Apple. When an AC3 file is damaged or corrupted, it will not play correctly. Fixing this type of file is done by using a corruption repair program. This will piece the damaged file back together to make it playable again. Corruption repair programs to use include FileRestore Professional, Unstoppable Copier and ASF-AVI-RM-WMV Repair.

FileRestore Professional

Download and install FileRestore Professional on your system.

Open the program to display the Drive Wizard. Select the drive where the damaged AC3 file is located.

Click the "Next" button to continue. Select the "Complete Scan" option to begin scanning your system.

Put a check in the box for the AC3 file that you want to recover. Click the "Recover" option on the left panel.
Unstoppable Copier

Download and install the Unstoppable Copier program on your system. Double-click the desktop icon to open the program.

Click the "Browse" button for "Source" and then navigate to the location where the damaged AC3 file is stored.

Click the "Browse" button for "Target" and select a destination for the repaired file.

Click the "Copy" button to begin the process.
ASF-AVI-RM-WMV Repair

Download and install the ASF-AVI-RM-WMV program on your system.

Click the "Add File" icon and select the damaged AC3 file that you want to repair.

Click the "Repair" icon to begin the process of repairing the file.
