How to Upgrade DISH Network Receivers

Dish Network uses several different satellite receiver models to provide its service to subscribers, each with slight variations in features. However, when it comes to basic system software upgrades, all Dish Network receivers use the same process. Most system upgrades on your Dish Network receiver are handled automatically through the satellite connection. However, you can initiate a system upgrade through the receiver settings menu.

Instructions

1. Press the "Power" button on the Dish Network receiver remote control to turn the unit on.

2. Press the "Menu" button on the remote to open the "Menu Setting" screen.

3. Use the "Up/Down" arrow buttons to scroll to the "System Setup" option in the main menu.

4. Scroll to the "Diagnostics" option; then select "System Upgrade" on the next menu screen. The receiver will automatically scan for available upgrades, and if there is an upgrade available, download it. The process will be finished once the receiver shuts off and automatically restarts.
