Instructions

    • 1

Open the washing machine door and allow the inside to dry completely. Use an upholstery attachment for your vacuum to remove any pet hair and other debris that's collected along the inside of the washing machine.

    • 2

Dampen a clean cloth with water and wipe out the water reservoir. Remove the fabric softener and bleach dispensers, along with any other removable parts. Clean them with all-purpose cleaner and a cloth to get rid of sticky residue that can attract dirt.

    • 3

Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into a warm water wash cycle once each week, and run the entire cycle. This weekly cleaning keeps mineral deposits at bay, kills mildew and removes dirt and odors. After running the cycle, leave the washing machine door open to allow it to air-dry.

    • 4

Add 1 cup of chlorine bleach to a hot water wash cycle once each month to clean and sanitize the washing machine's surfaces. After the cycle finishes, run the washing machine on another cycle with plain water to ensure that no bleach residue is left on the surface.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wipe out the inside of the washing machine immediately after each load of wash to remove dirt easily.

  • Remove laundry from the washing machine when the cycle finishes. Laundry left to sit in the washing machine causes mildew and musty odors to develop inside the machine and on your laundry.
