How to Increase Intuitive Powers
In a world that values cold, hard facts, scientific data and forensic evidence, we're rarely, if ever, encouraged to rely upon our own intuition. However, many highly successful people indicate that intuition has been a valuable asset in the arsenal of tools that helped them reach the top. Everyone has intuitive abilities of varying degrees. Some people are just more aware of them than others. Conscious effort on your part can allow you to nurture and develop your powers of intuition.

1
Practice daily meditation. Find a quiet spot in your house, lower the lights, loosen your clothing, get comfortable and breathe. Breath slowly and deeply from your diaphragm, rather than your chest. Focus on the power and rhythm of your breathing and clear your mind of external influences.
-
2
Develop your ability to listen more than you speak. Understand the power of silence. Avoid mindless chatter and idle gossip. Open your mind and allow your subconscious to process the continuous stream of information it receives.
-
-
3
Respect your first instinct. Examine your random thoughts and ask yourself why a thought may be true, no matter how outlandish it seems.
-
4
Turn off the television and step away from the computer. Take time out to hear what your intuition tells you by freeing yourself from information overload.
-
5
Keep a journal to record your innermost thoughts.

Tips & Warnings
While most things are fine in moderation, devoting too many hours to mindless activities such as web and channel surfing can distract you from quiet introspection.
Often you'll find that in the course of writing down your thoughts and feelings, events and ideas that you took little notice of previously may take on a new importance, and flashes of inspiration may appear from nowhere.
