The five mythic scenes in “Assassin’s Creed 2” are a selection of images that the player must choose from a block of 10 to solve a puzzle. This puzzle is triggered when you scan the first glyph you find in the game. It is titled “In the beginning.”

Access the Puzzle

There are 20 glyphs hidden around the areas of Italy you can access in “Assassin’s Creed 2.” To access this particular puzzle, you must find any of these glyphs and scan it. Glyphs appear on walls and in hard-to-reach areas. They emit a faint chiming noise when you are near one. Once you are in a location where you suspect a Glyph is, activate Eagle Vision mode to pinpoint its location. This highlights the Glyph on the surface it is on. Approach it and press the “Scan” button.

Mythic Scenes

The puzzle presents 10 paintings that depict different scenes. The clue states that you must pick five mythic scenes that “share a core similarity,” with the word “Core” highlighted in red. This clue refers to the apples that the figures are holding in five of the scenes. Select the five scenes with an apple in them to solve the puzzle. The correct scenes to highlight are, from left to right, the third and fifth images on the top row, and the first, second and fourth images on the bottom row.

Other Glyph Puzzles

There are 19 other puzzle sequences that go with the other 19 glyphs hidden throughout the game. Each one is presented in a similar way, with a cryptic clue to give you a hint, but the puzzles involve different actions. There are some like the mythic scenes puzzle previously detailed, whereas others are jigsaw puzzles made from a series of rotating circular discs. There are also code puzzles to decipher, as well as puzzles that ask you to spot a hidden symbol in an image. No matter what order you discover the glyphs, the order of the puzzles is always the same.

The Truth

Each time you solve a sequence of puzzles from one glyph, you will unlock a very brief portion of a video file, known only as “The Truth.” Solve all 20 glyph puzzles and you will have all sections of this video and be able to play them in sequence. It depicts two figures that strongly resemble Adam and Eve, running through what appears to be a futuristic Garden of Eden. At the end of the video, a block of binary code appears that translates into English to spell the word “Eden.” It is not made clear what this means in “Assassin’s Creed 2.”
