"EverQuest 2": How to Become a Citizen of Long Shadow

"Everquest 2" is a massively multiplayer online game developed by Sony Online Entertainment. It was released in 2004 and continues to be updated and maintained today. EQ2 is based around a good versus evil game structure where cities play a major role in the conflict. Freeport is one of the primary evil cities in EQ2, and to become a citizen there, you need to complete citizenship quests in Long Shadow Alley. Becoming a citizen in Long Shadow Alley provides you with a home location and a large number of subsequent quests.

Instructions

    • 1

Hail your current ambassador. If you come from Gorowyn, talk to Godwin, and if you come from Neriak, talk to N'Vox to start the citizenship quests.

    • 2

Go to Freeport and talk to Clerk Brutus to continue the Freeport citizenship quests.

    • 3

Find and talk to Sergeant Daimyo, who is located in the Armory shop next to Clerk Brutus. He will ask you to go to Long Shadow Alley. Once there, kill the two street toughs in the first part of the Alley. Return to Daimyo to continue the next part of the quest.

    • 4

Daimyo will tell you to get rid of street fighters in Freeport. The first set is by the amphitheater. Hail one of them, then kill them both when they attack.

    • 5

Go to the South Docks. The second set of street fighters are next to the inn. Hail one of them and then kill them both. Return to Sergeant Daimyo, who will give you your citizenship papers, then take those back to Clerk Brutus to finish your citizenship quests.

Tips & Warnings

  • Rest before attempting to complete this quest. It has several tough fights that could kill you if you are not at full health and mana.

  • Do not venture too far into Long Shadow Alley, as there are several aggressive creatures there that will attack you if you are not yet a full citizen.
