How to Know My Egyptian Zodiac

How to Know My Egyptian Zodiac thumbnail
Egyptian zodiac features ancient gods and goddesses.

Living on the fertile fields fed by the Nile, ancient Egyptians believed that the zodiac gods and goddesses watched over agriculture in addition to people. The word "hours" and "horoscope" are derived from the Egyptian god Horus, who represents one of the 12 Egyptian zodiac signs. The sole remaining record of Egyptian zodiac is at the ceiling of the Temple of Hathor in central Egypt. Since the temple is located in a place called Dandera, Egyptian zodiac is sometimes referred to as the Zodiac of Dandera. It depicts an inner circle of figures with the deity Anpu, who represents the North Pole, in the center. They are surrounded on the outer circle by 12 figures, each representing a zodiac sign.
