How to Flip Images in Word for Iron Design

Making your own wearables and totes can mean standing out in a crowd of generic clothes and logo designs, but getting those one-of-a-kind items requires a bit of heat. Iron-on designs use a special kind of material to transfer an on screen image such as a photo or picture. Ironing a design puts it in mirror focus, though, so to prepare your work, you can flip the image before printing using Microsoft Word.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the work area in Microsoft Word.

    • 2

Click the "Picture" button on the ribbon below the tab.

    • 3

Browse to the image to flip and double-click its file name, opening it on the Word page.

    • 4

Click the image to highlight it, and open the pink "Picture Tools" tab at the top of the workspace.

    • 5

Click the "Rotate" button on the ribbon below the tab. Select "Flip Horizontal" from the drop-down menu to flip the image.
