How to Paint With Velvet Powder
Velvet powder is a type of flocking that is used to make objects feel soft and velvety. It comes in a wide variety of colors and thicknesses, all designed for different projects. You can use velvet powder to cover nearly any kind of material, including models, boxes, letters, art projects and nearly anything else you can think of. There are really no limits to what you can cover with velvet powder. Experiment with using the powder on a small practice item before trying to cover a larger object to learn how to control the process.

1
Brush or spray with glue the object to which you want to add the powder. Use a paintbrush to brush on the glue, or spray it onto the desired location. Take care not to get glue on areas of the object that you do not want powdered. The velvet powder will stick to anything sticky.

2
Pour about 3 inches of the powder into a bowl. Dip the object into the bowl to coat with powder. You can also sprinkle the powder onto the object with your fingers, or dump it directly out of the container onto the object. Sprinkle over a bowl or other container to catch the powder that you don't use so you can use it for a different project.

3
Wait for the glue to set for about 10 minutes before trying to remove any excess powder.
-
4
Shake the object to remove any loose powder. Be gentle, so that you don't knock off more powder than you want to. Allow the powder to continue to dry for 2 to 4 hours before storing or using the object.
