How to Send a Long Tweet on Twitter

Promote your blog using longer tweets on Twitter.

Twitter's strict 140-character limit exists to comply with its "micro blogging" format. However, sometimes you need just a few extra characters to put down all of your thoughts. Although Twitter does not allow extensions, you can use one of a few external websites to create a longer Tweet. These sites will create a link that will show up on Twitter to display your full tweet.

Instructions

1. Navigate to one of the sites in Resources, including www.twitlonger.com/index.php/main_new or www.long-tweets.com/connect.php

2. Click the button to "Sign in using Twitter."

3. Authorize the site to access Twitter.

4. Sign into the site using your Twitter username and password.

5. Enter your tweet into the provided message box.

6. Click the "Post" button. Your Tweet will now appear on Twitter with a link to the full version.
