How to Install a Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server on VMware

Mac OS X version 10.6, Snow Leopard, is licensed so that the server version can run in virtualized instances on a Macintosh computer. Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server can run as a guest under a host operating system, such as Mac OS X, or Mac OS X Server. VMware Fusion is the version of VMware that runs on Macintosh computers and supports the virtualization of Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server. You can install an instance of Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server on VMware Fusion to take advantage of the benefits of server virtualization.

Instructions

      Insert the Mac OS X Server installation disc into the disc drive.

      Open VMware, then press Command and N simultaneously to create a new virtual machine.

      Click "Apple Mac OS X" under "Operation System," and "Mac OS X Server 10.6 64-bit" under "Version," then click "Continue."

      Click "Finish," then click the "Play" button.

      Click the "Next" arrow.

      Click "Continue," then "Agree."

      Click the virtual hard drive, then click "Install."

      Click "Continue" twice after the virtual machine restarts.
