How to Install a Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server on VMware
Mac OS X version 10.6, Snow Leopard, is licensed so that the server version can run in virtualized instances on a Macintosh computer. Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server can run as a guest under a host operating system, such as Mac OS X, or Mac OS X Server. VMware Fusion is the version of VMware that runs on Macintosh computers and supports the virtualization of Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server. You can install an instance of Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server on VMware Fusion to take advantage of the benefits of server virtualization.

Insert the Mac OS X Server installation disc into the disc drive.

Open VMware, then press Command and N simultaneously to create a new virtual machine.

Click "Apple Mac OS X" under "Operation System," and "Mac OS X Server 10.6 64-bit" under "Version," then click "Continue."

Click "Finish," then click the "Play" button.

Click the "Next" arrow.

Click "Continue," then "Agree."

Click the virtual hard drive, then click "Install."

Click "Continue" twice after the virtual machine restarts.

Enter optional user registration information, then click "Continue." You can also press Command and Q simultaneously to skip the user registration.

Click to select the time zone, then click "Continue."

Enter a user account name and password for the server, then click "Continue."

Enter optional IP network information, then click "Continue." Automatic IP address settings are used if no information is entered.

Type a name for the server installation, then click "Continue."

Click "Configure Manually," then click "Continue" three times on the following screens.

Click "Set Up" to create the initial settings for the server installation.

Click "Go" to log in to the server.
