How to Do a Mini Origami Flower
Origami flowers are beautiful, delicate and make eye-catching decorations for events such as weddings. While origami flowers can be made from any size of square paper, standard origami paper measures 6-by-6 inches. Miniature origami flowers, which can be used as creative centerpieces when placed in a glass vase, require paper that has been cut down in size. Basic models, such as the origami tulip, do not require as many folds as more complex origami flowers.

1
Use a ruler, pencil and scissors to cut a piece of standard origami paper down to a smaller size such as 3-by-3 or 4-by-4 inches. Choose paper with two colored sides; the side facing up will form the body of the tulip, while the side facing down will be exposed as the tulip's center.
-
2
Lay the paper down in front of you so that the colored side you prefer for the tulip's body is facing up and the four corners make a diamond shape. Bring the bottom corner up to meet the top corner, folding the paper in half into a triangle.

3
Fold the paper in half again by bringing the right corner over to meet the left corner. Crease and unfold.
-
4
Fold the right side of the triangle up and to the left, on a diagonal. Repeat this on the left side, using the fold you just made as a guideline to fold it up and to the right. This forms the body of the miniature tulip.
-
5
Fold the tip of the top of the miniature origami tulip down to expose the inside of the origami paper. This forms the tulip's center.
-
6
Make a backwards fold approximately 2 centimeters from the bottom tip of the paper. Crease and unfold.
-
7
Use the crease you made in Step 6 to make an inside reverse fold at the bottom of the paper. Gently pry open the paper and press the tip inside. Flatten the paper down, making a straight bottom for your miniature origami tulip.
