Posting a Link on Craigslist

To post an active link in your Craigslist ad, be sure to include the http://.

Craigslist is an online community providing a place for you to place classified ads in your city for jobs, gigs, housing as well as finding and selling goods and services. There are also forums for people to connect and discuss everything from taxes to celebrities. Most ads are free to post and you are also able to add an active, clickable link to your ad.

Instructions

1. Click on the location where you want your ad to appear. On the right side of the page you can choose the major U.S. cities or states. There are also options for locations in Canada and worldwide.

2. Click "Post to Classifieds" located on the top-left part of the page.

3. Click the radio button for the type of posting your ad is such as job offered or for sale. Then click the category under which your ad falls and the nearest area within the city you are posting.

4. Create your ad. Type the title, description and any other necessary information in the appropriate text fields.

5. Type the entire URL of the link you want included in your ad in the "Posting Description" section. Be to include the "http://" to ensure the link will be clickable once the ad is published.

6. Click "Continue" to see a preview of your ad. If you are satisfied with your ad, enter the verification code and accept the terms of use.

7. Check the email address you provided in the ad. Click on the link in the email from Craigslist. This link will take you to a page where you can edit your ad and publish it.
