How to Make a Leprechaun With Shoeboxes
Celebrating Saint Patrick's Day can be a lot of fun for children. By incorporating mythical characters like leprechauns, it can be like living in a fairy tale for a day. Shoe boxes are cheap and readily available craft supplies that most people have lying around the house. Make a great shoe box Leprechaun figure for this great holiday.
Things You'll Need
- Shoebox
- Smaller rectangle box
- Green crepe streamers
- Markers
- Paint
- Black construction paper
- Flesh colored construction paper.

Choose a bold shade of green. Paint the entire shoebox green.

Draw and then paint the leprechaun face, beard and hat onto the smaller rectangle box, vertically oriented. Stand the green shoe box upright, on the shorter edge. Glue the bottom of the smaller box face to the top of the green shoe box, which will be the body.

A simple mitten shape will work well for the hands. Glue long strips of the green crepe paper for the arms and legs. Cut shoe shapes out of black construction paper and attach to the bottom of the leg crepe strips. Cut mitten shapes out of flesh colored construction paper for the hands. Glue the hands to the arms.

Paint more details to the torso like suspenders, buttons and a collar. You can even give him a pot of gold!
