How to Find Your E Drive

The E drive on your computer can be an internal storage drive, a CD/DVD drive or an external storage device, such as USB flash drive. Depending on the status of the E drive, it may or may not always be accessible. For instance, if it is the CD/DVD drive on your computer, then it will not be accessible when a CD or DVD is not inserted inside the tray of the PC. In any case, finding the E drive is a simple task.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click the "Start" menu.

    • 2

Click "Computer." The list of all your storage devices will be shown in "Computer."

    • 3

Look for the "E:" drive in "Computer." If this drive appears in the list of hard disk drives, then it is an internal storage drive; if the CD icon is given next to the E drive, then it is the CD/DVD drive of your computer. If the E drive is not visible in "Computer," then this drive serves as the external storage drive for your PC, and it will only be displayed when a USB flash drive or an SD memory card is inserted into the PC.
