How to Use the Poke Radar in "Diamond"
Using the Poke Radar is the only way to catch several varieties of Pokemon in "Pokemon Diamond." Without the Poke Radar, it is impossible to complete the National Pokedex. The Poke Radar cannot be used while you are on your bike, so you must dismount and walk into the grass. Once the Poke Radar is turned on, it will continue to work until you either lose a battle or turn it off.

Tips & Warnings
Catching a wild Pokemon using the Poke Radar will start a series of Pokemon events. Each successive successful catch of a Pokemon will cause the next encounter to be with a stronger Pokemon in that particular chain. After 40 successful catches in a row, the chances of getting a shiny Pokemon increase to 1 in 200. (Shiny Pokemon will cause the grass to blink white twice instead of shaking). An encounter with a Pokemon not in a rustling or blinking grass patch will reset the series, so use "Repel" to keep unintended encounters from happening.
