How to Build a Retweet

If someone Tweets something that you find particularly interesting on Twitter, you can "Retweet" it if you want to share it.. Retweeting sends the Tweet out to your followers, while still giving credit to the original Tweet author. Building or creating a Retweet can be done in two ways, either manually, or by using Twitter's Retweet option. Using Twitter's Retweet option is faster, but by Retweeting manually, you can add your own note to the Retweet.

Instructions

  1. Retweeting via the Retweet option

Find the Tweet you want to Retweet to your followers.

Copy the Tweet and paste it into the text entry box marked "What's happening," where you would post normal Tweets from. Click at the beginning of the Tweet to move the cursor there. If you want your own note to appear at the beginning of the Retweet, type it in. After the optional note, type "RT" to label the following as a Retweet. Then type "@" followed by the username of the original Tweet author to give credit to them.
