How to Upgrade Characters in "Demon's Souls"
"Demon's Souls" was released on the PlayStation 3 in 2009. Your character can upgrade through the use of souls, a form of currency that is dropped from every defeated enemy in the game. You can upgrade each of your statistics, like vitality, intelligence and strength. By doing this, your character will become stronger, have more health, and be able to face enemies more effectively. You can upgrade your character by speaking to the Maiden in Black.

Travel to the Nexus, the main hub connecting all of the levels.

Speak to the Maiden in Black by pressing "X" while next to her. Her location is random as she walks around the Nexus.

Select "Seek Soul Power."

Select an attribute to upgrade. For example, if you want to upgrade your vitality, highlight "Vitality" using the left analog stick.

Press "X" to upgrade that statistic. The amount of souls required is random depending on the current level of that statistic.

Tips & Warnings
The higher your attributes are, the more souls it will cost to upgrade them.
You cannot upgrade your character until you have prevailed in the first level in the game.
