"Perfect World" is a massively multiplayer online game created by games publisher Perfect World Entertainment. "Perfect World" is designed to be played on a variety of Windows-based computer systems or on Mac-based systems using operating system virtualization software. Install operating system virtualization software on your Mac. Perfect World Entertainment recommends installing Parallels Desktop for Mac, VMware Fusion, or Boot Camp. The virtualization software will allow you to run Windows operating system on your Mac. You will also need a copy of Windows to complete this process.

Start Windows operating system on your Mac using the virtualization software. The virtualization software you install will either allow you to boot your computer into Windows operating system or run Windows operating system inside the Mac operating system. Instructions for doing so will vary depending on the virtualization software you choose.

Install "Perfect World" in Windows. "Perfect World" requires Windows operating system to install and run. Whenever you want to play "Perfect World," you will have to do so using Windows through your virtualization software.
Adjust Graphics Settings (Macs or PCs)

Click on the "System" button in the bottom right of the "Perfect World" screen.

Click the "System Settings" button.

Click on the "System" tab.

Adjust the various graphics settings. The "System Settings" window contains a number of adjustable graphics settings such as "Textures," "Distance" and "Water". Each setting has an adjustable slider. With the exception of "Gamma," moving the slider for each setting farther to the right will improve the appearance of the game but could possibly degrade the performance of the game on older laptops. If the game is not performing well on your laptop, try moving these sliders farther to the left.

Create your character. Like all MMORPGs, "Perfect World" allows you several choices when creating characters. Choose your character's race, then choose a class. Each race and class has specific attributes that are listed in the race and class descriptions.

Use your computer's mouse and keyboard to control your character. Depending on the layout of your mouse, you will use the mouse buttons to control the game camera angle and/or target enemies. Use the keyboard to move your character and to activate skills on your function bar. Typically the keys for movement are "W" (forward), "A" (turn left), "S" (backward) and "D" (turn right); if your laptop has a separate number pad, though, you might be able to use that to control movement.

Use the chat bar located in the lower leftcorner of your screen to communicate with other players. MMORPG style games are designed to be social. You will eventually need the help of other players to complete in-game tasks. Use the chat bar to communicate with players and start making some friends.

Use the navigation mini-map to find your way around. The mini-map, located in the upper leftcorner or your screen, gives you an overview of nearby terrain, buildings and characters. The mini-map also contains your current coordinates.

When adjusting the graphics settings of the game, try making several small adjustments until the game performs to your specifications. Doing this will allow you to fine-tune the game to find the a good balance between appearance and performance for your laptop.
Your function bar skills can be mapped to the number keys on your keyboard. As you play the game, you will discover that you repeat sequences of skills frequently. You can rearrange the function bar items to help you more quickly activate commonly used skills.
