Instructions

    • 1

Remove the wrench's handle from the socket. Most socket wrenches have a button at the back that you press to release.

    • 2

Spray a generous amount of penetrating catalyst into the hole at the top of the socket. It will loosen the catalyst and lubricate the nut and the socket and help to separate the two.

    • 3

Insert the flat-head screwdriver's blade into the hole located at the top of the socket. Place the screwdriver blade into the high side if the socket is visibly tilted to one side or the other.

    • 4

Tap the screwdriver with a hammer. Move the screwdriver around the hole in the socket and tap it with the hammer at the same time if the socket is level but stuck. Force the screwdriver into the socket at various angles to loosen and remove it.
