How to Do a Clipper Cut Ponytail
A clipper cut ponytail, or a layered ponytail, is a trendy hairstyle that can be accomplished with a mild amount of work and only a few hair tools. The ponytail is accomplished by cutting your hair into layers and styling it in a unique criss-cross pattern that will stand out in a crowd. By putting your hair back in a ponytail, it will stay out of your way during physical activity and day-to-day tasks. A clipper cut ponytail can be created in as little as half an hour with ease. Use a comb or brush to completely detangle hair before beginning. Split hair into three sections, one on each side and another on top. Use a clip to keep the top layer out of the way, as it will not be used until the end.

Guide the two side sections of hair back into a ponytail that lies fairly high up on the back of your head. The hair should be pulled back as tight as possible. Make a ponytail out of the two side sections by pulling them back and tying them together with a hair band.

Release the top section and bring it back to the ponytail on the back of your head. This section should not be tight at all. To loosen the hair, hold the top section to the first ponytail and push in the opposite direction so the top section of hair creates a loose poof on the top of your head. Clip the poof in place using a bobby pin at the base, right above the ponytail.

Take another hair band and wrap the second layer of hair so it is attached to the first ponytail.
