How to Insert More Tags in Joomla

The Joomla content management system has a straightforward layout that makes it easy for you to add and edit content as well as manage the bulk of your website's functions. Within the article editor, you can add a "More" tag. A "More" tag, also called a "Read More" tag, snips the content and creates an excerpt. When the article is viewed on the site, the user must click "Read More" to access the rest of the article.

Instructions

1. Sign into your Joomla website. Click on "Administrator." Hover over "Content," and then select "Article Manager."

2. Click on the article you want to add the "More" tag to. This opens the article editor.

3. Click your mouse where you would like to add the "More" tag. Scroll to the bottom of the text editor.

4. Click on "Read More." The "More" tag is inserted in the spot automatically. Click on "Save" to save the changes.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also click on "Toggle Editor" within the article editor to access the HTML. Insert the following code where you'd like the "More" tag to appear:
