How to Order Alphabetically in Word

You can sort text into alphabetical order in Microsoft Word through the Paragraph tab. If you have a list of names, cities or states, then sorting them alphabetically can help your viewer find information more quickly. In addition, it makes the text appear more concise. With the the Word Sort feature, make the order start from "A to Z" or "Z to A," depending on your preferences.

      Open the Word document you want to sort alphabetically.

      Click the "Home" tab and click "Paragraph." Click "Sort."
