How to Find Out Who Sponsors a Website
Websites contain information on just about any topic you are interested in. Individuals can create websites to promote their own products or ideas, as can businesses and organizations. One way users can look up website owners is to direct their browser to the Web page directly where owner information is often listed on the site. Users can also use domain search Web pages like LookUp, Who Is or Go Daddy Domain Search when information is not readily available on the website itself.

Point your browser to the website you are interested in. Ensure that the spelling is correct to avoid accessing the wrong page.

Scroll to the bottom of the website's homepage. You will see a statement that says "Created by," "Powered by" or a copyright symbol at the bottom of the page. The company named after these statements is the owner or sponsor of the Web page you are viewing.

Click "About us" to learn more about the company who sponsors the website. This link well provide information on the company who sponsors or owns the website, including their mission and other relevant information. Learn more about the individual owner of the site as well, if reading a blog site.
Using External Websites

Enter the name of a domain look-up websites such as Lookup, Whois, or Go Daddy. These websites provide data on owners of domain names.

Enter the website you wish to look up. You do not need to enter the "http://" portion of the Web address. For example, "Ebay.com" is sufficient. If using Go Daddy, click on "Domain Search," enter the website on which you search information and click "get info" located next to the line "Websitename.com is Already Taken."

Click "Enter." This will return the results of who owns the website you are looking for, in addition to other information like date of the website's creation. Look under "Registrant's Name" or a similar label to locate the owner's or company's name, specifically.
