How to Block a Text Message on Verizon

While text messaging is an efficient and handy form of communication, it can also be expensive and distracting. If a person or business is sending you text messages you do not wish to receive, you can block them with Verizon's Spam Controls feature, which is free to use. With Spam Controls from Verizon, you will be able to stop unwanted messages from specific phone numbers, email addresses and websites.

Instructions

1. Log in to your My Verizon account online. If you have not signed up for Verizon's free online account access, do so by clicking the grey "Register Now" button and enter the appropriate account information.

2. Click "My Services," then "Verizon Safeguards."

3. Select "Spam Controls," then "Internet Spam Blocking."

4. Enter the phone number(s) with area code(s), email address(es) or websites(s) you wish to block from sending you text messages into the appropriate fields, then select "Save."

Tips & Warnings

• To unblock text messages, follow the same directions and select "Delete" next to the entity you wish to restore.
