How to Import SketchUp Scenes Into Illustrator
Adobe Illustrator is one of the major vector graphics applications on the market at the time of publication, and it deals with 2-D images. Google SketchUp is a free 3-D modeling application used to create models of things like houses, buildings and other structures. While they are very different programs, you can import scene images created in SketchUp into the Illustrator application.

Start Google SketchUp. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." In the dialogue, locate and open a scene that you want to send to Illustrator.

Select "File" from the menu and choose "Export." From the options, choose "2D image." In the dialogue, name your file and save it as a PNG. Close SketchUp.

Open Illustrator. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." In the dialogue, locate and open a document into which you want to import the SketchUp scene.

Select "File" from the menu and choose "Place." In the dialogue, browse to and open the PNG file you exported from SketchUp.

Position the scene image where you want it and drag the corner handles to resize it. Save your work.
