How to Become a Licensed John Deere Dealer
Established in 1837, the John Deere Company was founded by blacksmith and farm equipment creator, John Deere. Starting with just building plows, today the John Deere Company makes numerous types of farm equipment and maintains dealerships all over the world. Becoming a licensed John Deere dealer is an expensive proposition, as the company looks for committed people to join the ranks. If you love farming and are looking for a new career, becoming a John Deere dealer may be right for you.

Visit the official John Deere website. Type in "Become a Dealer" into the text box at the top of the page and click the "Enter" tab.

Select the "How to Become a John Deere Dealer" link in the middle of the page.

Click on the "Inquiry Form" tab and fill out all of the necessary information. Enter detailed information about previous business ownership experience or John Deere employment, if you have any. Attach your resume to the application form.

Enter the type of dealership you are interested in opening. Keep in mind that a new dealer is required to have at least $3 million in guaranteed financing to open an official John Deere turf and utility equipment store. Investment requirements increase from $6 to $12 million to begin an agriculture equipment dealership and can go as high as $30 million for anyone interested in becoming a construction and forestry equipment retailer.
