How to Enable DHCP on a Laptop
A DHCP server allows network users to obtain their IP addresses automatically. By default, network devices on the Windows operating system are preconfigured for a DHCP connection. If your network connection is currently configured for a static address, you will need to change the connection back to the default settings to establish DHCP connectivity. You can find the settings responsible for DHCP in the "Network Connections" component.
