Lock your email with a strong password no one can hack.

Email is a big part of our lives; we use it for keeping in touch with friends and family, sending and receiving electronic information or to conduct business. The material found in emails can range from a funny cluster of animal pictures to more delicate information such as your finances. Not knowing how to keep your emails safe from being hacked puts you in danger of identity theft. The importance between not protecting your email and protecting your email can change the direction of your life.

Instructions

Set up a "Junk Mail" email account. Do not sign up for advertised offers through your main personal email account. Advertisement emails are often shared through a network of spammers. Hackers will disguise themselves as someone of interest getting you to open their email so they can hack into your email account for personal information.

Create a long password that contains numbers, both uppercase and lowercase letters, and symbols. Your password is the most obvious line of defense. Many people choose simple passwords because simple passwords are easy to remember, but a complicated password is worth memorizing in order to increase your email's security.

Don't use password questions. If you must use a password question, create a false complicated answer that no one would be able to guess and then memorize it yourself. When a person hacks your password question, it results in their ability to reset your password. Be especially careful of people who know you hacking into your account, since most password questions are things like your pets name.
