1
Choose a working space where you can create the card. The working space should be flat, clean, and away from any distractions. The area you select to work should also have bright lighting, so you can clearly see what you are doing. Place all tools and materials within easy reach.

2
Begin by placing the blank card in front of you. Set the envelope aside for later use. Decide whether you want the card to open length ways or width ways and arrange it properly in front of you. Use a ruler to measure the card and find the center of it. Mark the center lightly using a pencil.

3
Place a piece of scrap booking paper in front of you. Use a ruler and a pencil to draw a 4-by-4 inch square on the back side of the paper. Cut the square out following the pencil lines. Flip the paper over. Place the 4-by-4 inch square on top of the front face of the blank card. Arrange it so it is in the center of the card. Use the pencil mark as a guide. When the paper is in the proper location, use white glue to adhere it.

Place a sheet of blank paper in front of you. Draw a 2-by-2 inch square on the blank paper using your pencil and ruler. Make sure to draw the lines of the square as straight as possible. Use a black ink pen to write a message in the square. Cut out the square with the message. Center the square face up on the scrap booking-paper square. Arrange it so that it is in the center on the square, then, glue it in place.

5
Measure the width of your card. Cut two pieces of ribbon to the length of the width measurement. Place one of the lengths of ribbon across the card above the scrap booking-paper square. Arrange it in desired fashion across the paper then glue in place. Repeat this process with the second length of ribbon below the paper square. Allow the glue to dry before moving on to the next step.

6
Open the card and write your personal message inside using the black ink pen. Don't forget to sign your name. Close the card and carefully slide it into the envelope.
