How to Erase the Explorer Bar History in Regedit
Internet Explorer stores a history of the websites that you browse in a Windows registry key. Many users who are concerned about privacy worry that their Web viewing habits can be tracked. You can delete URLs that you have visited by using the Delete Browsing History tool built into the browser. Because the addresses are stored in the Windows registry, you can also erase the history of any addresses you've typed using Regedit.exe, the Windows registry editor.

Close all Internet Explorer windows, if any are currently open.

Click the Windows "Start" button in the lower left corner of your computer desktop. Type "Regedit" without quotes into the search box that appears, then press the "Enter" key on your keyboard.

Click the "Yes" button in the User Account Control window that appears.

Navigate to the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs" key in the left pane of the Regedit window.

Select "Url" and each subsequent value in the right pane by pressing and holding the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard as you click each value. Do not select the "(Default)" value.

Right-click on the selected values and click "Delete."

Click the "Yes" button.

Tips & Warnings
Be very careful when using the registry editor. You could damage your Windows installation or even make it unbootable by carelessly deleting or changing the wrong keys or values.
