How to Become a Google Apps Certified Teacher
According to Google, over 10 million students use Google Apps everyday, and becoming a Google Apps teacher can help you enhance classroom learning and increase visibility in the Google Apps marketplace. Teachers are using Google Apps to create calendars for schools, deliver surveys and quizzes and bring advanced technology to the classroom. 1
Review the six training modules in the Google Apps Education Training Center. Each module consists of several chapters, and you can complete the modules at your own pace. After you complete each module, you must pass the online individual qualification exam, which entails a program of six comprehensive tests. The qualified individual certificate lasts for a year and is a prerequisite for the certified teacher program.
-
2
Conduct a case study to showcase your experience in technology coaching and professional development. You must demonstrate wide-ranging experience using training and Google Apps to educational organizations prior to applying for certification. The case study can cover a previous project you completed for a school or business client, but the study must focus on a measurable hypothesis.

Provide references from schools or business clients who can attest to your expertise using Google Apps. Ask each reference to detail the specific project you completed for their organization, and discuss how your unique approach helped their institution or business.
-

Construct a sample learning material packet and make a short video that displays your expertise with Google Apps. In addition to finding educators whose expertise and learning materials meet high quality standards, Google seeks individuals who can condense technical content in a creative and easy-to-learn manner.

5
Create a two-minute video discussing your background, role in education technology and your unique approach to learning using Google Apps. Highlight your work history and ability to deliver training and support to large clients, school districts and institutions of higher-education. Google seeks enthusiastic and passionate educators with stellar public speaking skills, so use your two-minute introductory video as an opportunity to showcase these abilities.
