How to Make a Topic for a Facebook Group
Facebook groups are small, private online communities where people with shared interests join together to discuss relevant topics. Unlike Facebook pages, which are official representatives of causes, brands, businesses and companies, Facebook groups are informal communities with up to 500 members centering around common interests. A group's Wall posts act like a default message board, where members can post their own discussion topics pertinent to the group. Other members then leave comments on the topic and join in the discussion. If you're a member of a Facebook group, you can easily create your own topics.

Log in to your Facebook account.

Click the name of the group to which you'd like to post a discussion topic. You can find the list of groups that you belong to on the left column under your profile tabs.

Type your discussion topic in the field at the top of the group page that says "Write Something." This text disappears when you click the field. Facebook limits your discussion message to up to 420 characters in length.

Press Enter. Your topic posts automatically to the group. Depending upon the group settings, others can now join in and discuss the topic in the comments.

Tips & Warnings
You can add links, photos and videos to your discussion topic. Click the appropriate media tab above the "Write Something" field to add the content to your post.
Privacy levels vary among Facebook groups. Some administrators set the group's privacy levels so that only members can see the topics and comments they leave on the group. Others are visible to the public. Check that the group's privacy settings are at a level that you are comfortable with before leaving comments or making topics that are potentially visible by non-members.
