How to Install an ATI Catalyst Driver

ATI Catalyst is a display driver for video cards created by ATI. If you have an ATI video card on your computer, you must install the ATI Catalyst display driver to experience the full potential of the video card. You can download the latest version of the ATI Catalyst display driver from the AMD website.

Instructions

1. Use your Web browser to download the latest version of the ATI Catalyst Software Suite from AMD.com. Select your operating system on the "Downloads" page and click "Download" next to "Catalyst Software Suite."

2. Click "Open" and "Run" after downloading the ATI Catalyst Software Suite.

3. Click "Next." Specify a destination to extract the installation files using the "Browse" button. Click "Install" to extract the installation files. After extracting, the ATI Catalyst Install Manager will automatically start up.

4. Click "Next" and then click "Install." Click the radio button next to "Express" and click "Next." Click "Accept" on the following screen and then click "Yes" to install the ATI Catalyst display driver.

5. Click "Finish" to exit the ATI Catalyst Install Manager.

6. Restart your computer. The operating system will detect the ATI Catalyst display driver and automatically adjust the display settings.

Tips & Warnings

• If your computer already has an older version of an ATI Catalyst display driver installed, you must first uninstall it before installing a newer version. You can uninstall the ATI Catalyst display driver from the "Control Panel."
