How to Change the Background of the Arras Theme

Arras is a free theme for self-hosted Wordpress websites. The basic Arras background is light grey; however, you can change the background to suit your tastes in the Arras theme options panel. You can either use an image as the website background, or you can simply set the background to a different color.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign into your site's administration panel. Scroll down and click "Arras" on the left sidebar.

    • 2

Click on "Custom Background." Check the box next to "Activate Custom Background."

    • 3

Click on "Choose File" if you want to upload a custom background image.

    • 4

Select the options for the background image below. Choose "Fixed" if you want the background image to stay stationary. Click "Scroll" if you want it to scroll along with the rest of the page when a user scrolls the site.

    • 5

Choose "Left," "Right" or "Center" beneath "Horizontal Position" to choose the alignment of the image. Choose "Top," "Center" or "Bottom" beneath "Top Position" to choose the top alignment of the image.

    • 6

Choose "None," "Repeat Horizontally," "Repeat Vertically" or "Repeat Both" if you want the background image to repeat itself. This is helpful when you are using a small image for the background.

    • 7

Click on the box next to "Background Color" if you'd prefer not to use a custom image, and would rather use a color. Select your color from the color box. Click on "Save Changes."
