How to Disable a Bluetooth Connection to a PC

A computer with Bluetooth functionality can connect to any Bluetooth capable devices within sufficient proximity once the two have been paired -- including cellphones, keyboards, mouse devices and printers. A computer with an enabled Bluetooth connection, however, uses more power and RAM than a computer with its Bluetooth connection disengaged. If you want to disable a computer's Bluetooth connection, you can do so through the computer's Control Panel in a few steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Start" button in the computer's task bar and select the "Control Panel" option from the Start menu.

    • 2

Click the "Device Manager" icon to open the Device Manager window.

    • 3

Click the arrow to the left of the "Bluetooth Radios" heading to display the computer's Bluetooth connection.

    • 4

Right-click on the computer's Bluetooth device whose connection you want to disable and select the "Disable" option from the context menu that appears.

    • 5

Click the "Yes" button when prompted to confirm that you want to disable the Bluetooth device's connection.
