How to Hole Punch a Daytimer
Daytimer planner notebook sheets have a six- or seven-hole punched edge that fits inside the planner binder. Each sheet is punched with a cluster of three holes on the top and bottom, and some types have a seventh hole in the middle of the punched edge. Standard hole punches only make a single hole, or three holes for the punch variety used for standard binders. Using a regular hole punch and a template allows you to turn any sheet of paper into a daytimer sheet.

Lay a sheet of thin cardboard, such as a panel from a cereal box, beneath one of the existing daytimer sheets. Line up the edge of the cardboard with the edge of the punched edge daytimer sheet.

Mark the hole layout on the cardboard with a pencil. Use the existing holes in the daytimer sheet as a guide for your markings. Mark the top and bottom edge of the daytimer sheet onto the cardboard.

Trim the ends of the cardboard at the markings so the cardboard is the same length and width as the daytimer sheet. Punch holes through the hole marks on the cardboard, using a single-hole punch.

Lay your cardboard template over blank sheets of paper. Use paper the same size as what is currently in the daytimer.

Line up the punched edge of the cardboard with the edge of the sheets. Secure the stack together with a binder clip so the paper doesn't slip during punching.

Line the single-hole punch up with the hole in the cardboard template. Punch through the holes in the template and through the paper stack with the single-hole punch.

Tips & Warnings
Seven-hole punches are available at some office supply stores. These quickly punch through the paper so it fits inside a daytimer.
Single-hole punches typically punch through no more than five sheets at a time. Experiment with your punch before making the daytimer sheets to verify the maximum thickness it can handle.
