How to Graph a Square Root of a Number on the Ti-83 Plus
The Texas Instruments TI-83 plus is a scientific calculator capable of displaying graphs. While the TI-83 Plus does not have a dedicated square root button, you can graph the square root of a number using the calculator's secondary function key and menu system.

Press the "Y=" key under the screen. The screen will shift to a list of Y variables.

Press the "2nd" key and the "x^1" key. A square root and open parentheses will appear next to Y1.

Type the radicand. The radicand is the number under the square root symbol.

Press the ")" key to close the equation.

Press the "ZOOM" button to open the "ZOOM MEMORY" screen.

Press the "6" button to show the standard graph.
