Instructions

    • 1

Gather a group of at least 10 children. As this is a process-of-elimination game, you want to have a good number of children participating to make it competitive.

    • 2

Select one child to leave the room.

    • 3

Select from the remaining children the one who will be the ghost, and place the sheet over that child's head.

    • 4

Have the rest of the children mix up and walk around the room.

    • 5

Bring the child who is to guess back into the room. He gets three tries to guess who is the ghost. If the children playing the game are very young, however, you can give the guesser additional tries.

    • 6

The person who was the ghost now gets to be the guesser and goes out of the room, and another child is picked to be the ghost. Continue in this fashion until everyone has had the chance to be the guesser or ghost, or until the group loses interest in the game.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the sheet is long enough to cover the child's feet so that the person cannot figure out who it is from their shoes.

  • For a variation of the game, let the guesser ask the ghost a question to figure out his identity, and have the ghost respond in a ghost-like voice.
