Guilds are an important aspect of MMORPGs.

In the online game World of Warcraft, players form groups with other players called "guilds." Among the members of a guild, there is a leader, or "Guild Master" that controls guild membership, bank access and member ranks. A Guild Master may be the creator of the guild, but sometimes the creator passes the guild leadership onto another player by promoting him to Guild Leader. Any member of the guild can be the Guild Leader. Here's how to promote or be promoted to Guild Master.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to World of Warcraft on the character that is to be promoted.

    • 2

Ensure that the current Guild Master is online.

    • 3

Accept an invitation to a guild, if your character does not already belong to one.

    • 4

Wait for the current Guild Master to promote you to Guild Master. He does this by right-clicking your character name in the current guild roster list and choosing "Promote To Guild Master." Once promoted, you see a notification in the chat module saying that you have been promoted to Guild Master.

Tips & Warnings

  • As a Guild Master, you create officer ranks that can do most of the tasks usually reserved for the Guild Master, such as new member invites, promotions and bank management.

  • Once you relinquish control by promoting another player to Guild Master, you lose ownership of the guild. To regain to control, the current Guild Master will have to promote you again.
