Tracking cookies enable companies to record your activities on the Internet.

Compaq laptop computers that feature the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system also include the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browser by default. While surfing the Internet with Internet Explorer, it is common practice for websites to store special files called "cookies" within the operating system that are used to track website visits, facilitate auto login and more. "Cookie" files are also a privacy issue because they enable websites to track user actions. View the "cookies" folders on your Compaq laptop while connecting to websites to determine whether or not the website is storing cookies on the computer.
