How to Fill in Autofill

AutoFill saves time and effort.

The AutoFill application is a Google-powered Web-browsing tool designed to make text entry expeditious and simplified. Included as an add-on feature with the Google toolbar, the AutoFill feature makes data entry a little easier for millions of Web surfers around the world. With the AutoFill application, Internet users can create a virtual profile of their contact information and other personal information. This virtual profile can be added to online text fields with the click of a button, so you don't have to manually enter the information each time it's needed.

Things You'll Need

• Google Toolbar installed in the browser (see Resources to download).

Instructions

1. Open the browser, and click the wrench thumbnail image on the Google Toolbar at the top of the browser screen. The Google Toolbar options menu will open.

2. Click "AutoFill" in the left pane of the Google Toolbar options menu.

3. Select the "Add New Profile" option on the AutoFill menu page. The AutoFill menu will redirect to a text entry page.

4. Type the required profile information for your name, email, physical address and contact numbers in the corresponding data fields.

5. Click "Save" at the bottom of the profile text entry page.

6. Go to the page where you need to enter your profile.

7. Click the "AutoFill" tab on the Google Toolbar menu to automatically fill in the blank data fields with your profile. (If you have created more than one personal profile, click the arrow to the right of the AutoFill tab. Then, select the profile you want to use.)

Tips & Warnings

• AutoFill can also store credit card information, but it is not recommended. Storing this type of confidential information could be extremely risky if the computer is hacked or stolen.
