How to Make Your Own Valentine Candy Arrangement
Celebrate the most romantic day of the year with a handmade candy arrangement for your sweetheart. Instead of giving a traditional Valentine's Day gift such as a floral arrangement and chocolates, combine the two elements to give your significant other a one-of-its kind arrangement comprised of her favorite candy, chocolates and edible treats. Assemble the arrangement a day before and place it on her nightstand or kitchen counter and surprise her with it in the morning.
Things You'll Need

1
Using a serrated knife, measure and cut a piece of florist foam to fit inside a ceramic, plastic or terracotta flower pot or decorative bowl.
-
2
Cut the wooden dowels or skewers you will use as stems to different lengths to enhance the appeal of the candy arrangement when formed. Depending on the size of the arrangement and the number of dowels, cut four to five dowels 3 to 4 inches shorter than the rest. Also cut four to six dowels 2 inches shorter than the remaining dowels. Arrange the dowels back on the table in front of you.

3
Wrap each wooden dowel in green florist tape so it resembles a stem. Start from one end of the dowel and wind the tape along its length until you reach the other end. Clip excess tape off with scissors.
-
4
Attach the individually wrapped candy (flowers) to the dowels (stems) using hot glue. Apply a bead of glue to the top of the skewer and let it cool for 10 to 15 seconds to keep the candy from melting. Press the back of the wrapped candy to the slightly cooled glue to create a candy flower for the arrangement. Repeat the process of gluing candy to the skewers to form edible flowers for the arrangement.

5
Insert the tallest skewers in the florists foam first, followed by the remaining skewers. Push each skewer 2 inches deep in the foam so it stays in place. Angle some skewers through the foam along the sides of the forming arrangement for a fuller look.
-
6
Step back and inspect the arrangement for changes it may require. Adjust the position of a skewer if necessary to give the arrangement a well-balanced look. Shred paper in your desired color and sprinkle at the base of the "flowers" to cover the foam.

Tips & Warnings
Use an assortment of candy including cookie pops, candy bars and rainbow lollipops.
Paint the outer surface of the pot a bold color, stencil decorative designs, embellish it with faux gems or glitter or glue decorative ribbon around it so it stands out and the arrangement looks even more appealing. Ensure the pot is completely dry before you begin assembling the arrangement.
Wrap a large bow around the pot that complements or contrasts the colors of the candy, or wrap the arrangement in cellophane and knot ribbon in a decorative bow around the opening
